Ashburn is in the far south of Chicago. Ashburn is bounded by 71th Street (7100 S) to 87th Street (8700 N) and Pulaski Road (2000 W) to Kedzie Avenue (4000 W). It is a stable area. There are many community organizations that work to improve the area as well as improve the lives of its residents.
Ashburn's development started out very slow in the beginning of the 20th century. However, during the 40's and 50's, the area had a boom. The proximity to the loop and the affordability of the houses made this neighborhood an attractive one. Prices for homes range from $100,000 to $250,000 and there are a variety of home styles to choose from.
