IAR Opposes Proposed Real Estate Advertising Rule
IAR has sent letters to IDFPR and to Governor Blagojevich opposing recently proposed rules regarding misleading advertising under the Real Estate License Act. The proposed rule states that the use of certain words in real estate “single-family” advertising is misleading and therefore a violation of the Act. The prohibited words and phrases include “apartment,” “two units,” “related living,” “in-law arrangement,” or “related apartment.”
