Fluorite: Official Mineral of Illinois

Did you know that the official mineral of Illinois is Fluorite? The General Assembly of Illnois established Fluorite as the state mineral in 1965. Illinois was the largest producer of Fluorite in the United States but the last mine has been closed in 1995. Fluorite is used in making steel, enamels, aluminum, glass, and many chemicals.

Falcon Living, Chicago Real Estate Brokerage, as a supporter of environment would like to encourage the end users of Fluorite to help create a better environment in Illinois.
